Communications | Marketing | Social Media
You can call me Katie.
I'm a passionate storyteller, an empathetic listener, a relationship builder, and a creative doer. From an early age, I saw the potential for connection through media and was interested in creating it. It's a quality I bring to many areas of my career as a communicator and content strategist: writing and editing, graphic design, video creation, project coordination, and more.
My diverse background includes agency work and time spent in several industries from higher education to government and the private and public sectors. I am cause-driven and service-focused, bringing to every role a true interest in engaging communities to strengthen and enhance brand image and reputation.
My fun facts: I've lived in eight states and can play the piano by ear.
Social Media Management
I spent six years creating and managing content for the flagship properties of a top-ranked public university (including one award-winning account), each with a variety of audiences:

Working with partners across campus, I developed best practices, guidelines, and security protocols for social media accounts under the UC Santa Barbara brand. I wrote and built the entire social media section of UCSB's brand site except for the directory, which I worked closely with a web development colleague to complete.
I've managed several content programs on UC Santa Barbara's website, including annual project coordination, copywriting, graphic design, and page building for graduate spotlights, video production, celebratory social media assets, and an annual crowdsourced Spotify playlist for Commencement.
